English Language & English Literature

English develops the reading, writing and spoken language skills students need throughout school and beyond, through engagement with both fiction and non-fiction from different periods. English Literature builds analytical skills through poetry, prose and drama, giving students a creative space to explore what it means to be human, empathise with different characters, and understand the historical contexts behind great works of writing.
